How long have you worked at Altum?
I started at Altum in October 2025, so it’s been 4 months now.
What made you want to work at Altum?
Altum has been familiar to me from my previous work. I managed a project which involved Altum’s high-power ultrasound solution. The project was left unfinished and with joining Altum, I had the chance to fulfill and realize the product strategy vision I have. This motivated me to join Altum and still motivates me on the job.
As the newest addition to Altum’s team, is there something that surprised you/what has been most surprising/interesting about working at Altum?
First, I had a super warm welcome at Altum and I am very grateful for that. As it is a small scale-up company, the family-like atmosphere at the office reflects team spirit, expertise, innovation and the hunger for development. Most interesting I find learning more about the technology and the physical principles of ultrasound.
What are your favourite things about your job?
The best part of being a product manager is looking at the big picture from customer perspective, translating their needs into real tasks for product development. And being the spider in the web: Communication is the key to success, to connect the dots and move things forward. I like the role being so multifaceted that I am supporting and influencing each role in the company in a way that the solution creates sustainable value to our customers.
What are the most challenging things in your job?
Understanding the physics. Physics has never been a subject I engaged with voluntarily, so understanding the principles of ultrasound has been challenging. However, I am grateful being surrounded with skilful colleagues to whom I can turn and who are patient enough to explain the same things repeatedly.
What’s a common misconception people have about Product Managers?
People usually think that product management is a technical job which is related to mechanics and engineering. Believe me, it’s far from that. Product Management looks at the big picture from strategic perspective as well as the tiny detail of the mechanics. Overall, it’s more business driven than most people would expect.
Is there something you have recently learned on the job?
I am proud to have completed my first onsite installation with all its bells and whistles. It was an eye-opening experience full of learnings which I can now translate to product management and development initiatives.
Describe the Altum work community with 2 words?
