REMOVING FOULING FROM A PIPE
CHEMICAL PRODUCER | FINLAND
By using Altum's ultrasound service, this customer was able to completely remove phosphoric acid from a pipe.
ISSUE
This customer experienced frequent buildup on the inner surfaces of a pipeline section in a transfer line. The buildup was caused by phosphoric acid, and disturbed flow of the liquid by causing pressure drops in the pipeline.

SOLUTION
Ultrasonic transducers were attached with Altum's clamp-on device (COD) onto the outside of the pipe to be cleaned.
RESULTS
Phosphoric acid fouling was completely removed.
